To enhance the skills of enumerators and ensure the success of the pilot project aimed at supporting poor and low-income households (PMT Pilot), a special training course for social enumerators was organized in Duhok.
The course was conducted from May 10 to 14, 2026. During the course, more than 75 social enumerators were trained on data collection methods for eligible households in need of assistance in the center of Duhok.
The course was conducted by skilled employees from the "Kurdistan Region Statistics Office" (KRSO) in partnership and coordination with the "Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs" of the Kurdistan Region Government. It should be noted that the project is being implemented with financial support from the World Bank. The project’s main objective is to reduce poverty rates and provide assistance to people living below the poverty line in order to improve their living conditions.
During the five-day course, participants were introduced to the latest technologies and electronic forms used for recording information, ensuring that the process of providing assistance to poor and needy families is carried out in a fair and scientific manner.
This phase is part of a series of projects by the Kurdistan Region Government and international organizations to improve the living conditions of families. The project has been held as a pilot project in the center of Duhok and is planned to be expanded to all other governorates of the Kurdistan Region in the future, once the necessary funding is available.
