In order to conduct Multi Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS), a consultative workshop was held under supervision of president of Kurdistan Region Statistics Office (KRSO) in Erbil between 24-26/10/2023.
The workshop was held with participation of the technical team from KRSO; Mr. Qusay Abdulfattah, Director general of technical affairs from CSO; Mrs. Shilan Junaid, Director general of educational Planning in the Ministry of Education of Kurdistan Region; representatives from the Ministries of Education, Health, Municipalities, and Tourism of Kurdistan Region; representatives from Ministries of Education, Health and Sports and youth from the federal government and a senior team from UNICEF.
At the beginning, president of Kurdistan Region Statistics Office Highlighted the importance of the survey and referred to the previous rounds of the survey.
The purpose of this survey is to reveal the health status of women aged 15-49 years and children under 5 years of age on one hand and on the other hand providing a source for measuring indicators of Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) in the fields of education, health, and households’ services in terms of water and sanitation, child labor and other important indicators.
The survey will be conducted by KRSO in collaboration with CSO in coordination with the coordination and technical support of UNICEF. The survey is planned to be conducted in the early second quarter of the next year (2024).
