A two-day workshop was held in Dohuk governorate to present the work plan in general and exchange opinions about the past and future activities of the Kurdistan Region Statistics Office (KRSO).
Under the supervision of the Deputy Minister of Planning and Acting president of KRSO, Mr. Serwan Mohamed, consultative workshop of Statistics Office was held between 20-21/12/2023 with participation of the directors of the statistics directorates of governorates and administrations, representatives of statistical departments and supervisors of statistical departments in KRSO.
At the beginning, the participants were welcomed by the Director of Duhok Statistics Directorate, then the Deputy Minister of Planning and the Acting president of KRSO talked about the purpose behind this workshop specially new approaches in geographical information system and economics statistics that are intended to be conducted in the future. Then the supervisors of agriculture and Environment Statistics, Education and Health statistics, Construction statistics, GIS Department, Transportation and communication statistics Departments presented their work and activities.
On the second day, the activities of the Statistics Department of Consumer Price index, Labor Force and Population were presented. At the end, the participants conveyed their comments and observations on the topics of the workshop as well as their recommendations directed to the deputy minister in order to improve statistical work in the future.
