United Nations statistical commission held its session on 6-9 March, 2018 in New York City in USA where, Iraq representative, population statistics department from KRSO was present.
Different statistics topics were discussed during the session. These topics were the topics that had been worked on by relevant committees and specialists during the last year which were sent to the commission to be discussed and decision be taken upon them. The committee of Expert Group on Refugee and IDP Statistics (EGRIS) was one of the committees where KRSO had an effective role through participating in its meetings and workshops in countries of Turkey, Norway, and Swisstzerland. No doubt, well receiving of a large number of refuges and IDPs in Kurdistan region was a provocative factor in selecting KRSO as representative of Iraq in this commission.

- Political decisions of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council that are relevant to the work of the Statistical Commission.
At the end, Iraq representative was received by Iraq ambassador to United Nations, Mr. Mohammad Hussein. B and they discussed the work of commission, the results, and the effects of Iraq participation in recent United Nations statistical commission.
