With attendance of directorates of statistics from Erbil and Sulaimani, the head of KRSO conducted a meeting on 8/11/2016 to discuss the project of “Labor Market Assessment and Sector Skills Analysis for the Further Development of the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) System in Iraq”.
This project aims to designate balance between labor market and its need in term of technical and vocational education in the ministry of Education and higher education. The survey component is going to be done before the end of November 2016.
This project is a part of program of ministry of planning for economic reforming that was announced in March 2016 and the agreement for performing this project was made. The results of this project could help to make a balance between the needs of labor market and ministry of Education and higher education to attract a qualified labor force in a right place. It also prevents complaints that direct to government by people who could not find a desirable job in accordance with their educational level and certificate. This project will also show the gaps in some jobs- technical jobs-in order to be taken into consideration in the planning of government to raise skilled people in this concern.
At the end, the questionnaire of this project was presented. Then the way of conducting the survey and the advantages of doing such project were discussed. As well as it was agreed to carry out the preparatory steps for this survey and the committee and field team to be established.
