On 1st Nov-2022, a one-day discussion forum was held to give information about the objectives of UNFPA programs and principle of communication on the sensitive topics such as health and reproduction, gender-based violence and youth empowerment.
In collaboration with UNFPA, Information Technology Office held a course about the objectives of UNFPA and principle of communication on the sensitive Topics such as health, reproduction, gender-based violence and youth empowerment with participation of the representatives from Ministries of Justice, Culture, Social Affairs, Planning, Kurdistan Region Statistics Office and Violence against Women directorate.
At the beginning, a brief introduction was given to the participants about UNFPA including how it carries out its works, duties, supporting and communication process.
The UNFPA most important engagements are: monitoring the women’s and youth’s health, the pregnant women’s health, access to contraceptives and confidence making, prevention of gender-based violence female circumcision, training thousands of health workers, making efforts to eliminate marriage before the age of 15, provision of safe delivery requirements, census and data collection and analysis.
In another part, some information and topics related to effective communication were discussed. This course was the first course of its kind and several other courses are scheduled to be held next year.
